Product Review: Kiddo Feedo Freezer Tray

One thing I have learned to appreciate in baby products over the years is versatility. When I purchase products for the kids, I try to ask myself a few questions, including the following

1. Is it affordable?
2. How often will I be using it?
3. Are there multiple ways to use it?

Asking myself questions such as these helps me to decide what products are worth the investment (whether they be great or small. The money adds up!). With the Kiddo Feedo Freezer Tray, I asked myself these questions and more, and after a little research on the product, I was pleased to have the chance to try it out myself.

Our Experience:
The Kiddo Feedo Freezer Tray is a silicone container, and it comes equipped with its own lid. It’s BPA Free & FDA Approved, which makes it better than the standard plastic freezer trays that many of us use on a regular basis. I once used plastic trays as well, and after using these silicone freezer trays, we won’t turn back. Our whole family likes the size of the cubes, the shape is a fresh change from the standard rectangles, and there are a number of uses for it. For one, the material is oven safe, which means you can also bake in them. Whether you’re entertaining guests, or trying to get more creative in kids’ meals, this is the way to go. You can make everything from omelette bites, mini muffins and cupcakes, baby puree or infused water prep and more.

The boys love the feel of the material and the vibrant colours, as well as how easy it is to pop the contents out compared to standard plastic trays.

Pros:
•They are versatile. Use them to bake, prep infused water, store pumped breast milk, freeze purees and more.
•BPA Free, Phthalate Free, Lead Free, Latex Free, which makes them safe for babies and the whole family
•The lid is also made of silicone! Most freezer tray lids are made of plastic which is never a safe option when it comes to contact with food.
•Once frozen, the contents pop out very easily
•They are dishwasher safe. How often do we clean our plastic freezer trays? I will be the first to admit that I didn’t wash them too often, but it’s easier to remember when I can clean them with a little warm soapy water or in the dishwasher.

Cons
•I have no cons for this product, but those who follow my product reviews know that I try to include BOTH pros and cons to help you fully understand the product before purchasing. I decided to go on Amazon to look for any issues that I could highlight here. One issue a buyer had was that the lid did not snap on to their satisfaction. It did take me a while to get the hang of it, but the lid closes for me on both units, which protects the contents from possible spills or from anything else in the freezer getting into contact with the food. Another alternative to the lid would be cling wrap or foil paper (especially if you’re making ice pops).

Avocado, Apple, Banana and Blueberries

Our four year old cried at the sight of this combo because he said it was too purple! Someone is picky with their food this week 🙂

When he realized I wasn’t making another batch, he went ahead and drank it. He loved it, and so I am sharing it with you all.

Ingredients:
1 Avocado
1 Granny Smith apple
1 bananas
Handful of blueberries

Instructions:
Blend ingredients together
Serve

Notes:
I left ours thick and chunky, but depending on who is consuming it and their preference in terms of texture, you can thin the consistency with almond milk, breast milk or water.
