Mashed Butternut Squash & Apple

2 “red delicious” apples
1 medium size butternut squash
Garlic and Herb seasoning blend (optional)
Extra virgin olive oil

Preheat oven at 380 degrees
Wash and cut your butternut squash in half
Brush some oil on the cut sides of the squash
Sprinkle spice on top (optional)
Place cut side DOWN on baking sheet
Roast in oven for 45 minutes,
or until you can pierce all the way through
Once removed, let cool and then peel off the skin
Flip them over, and scoop out the soft center where the seeds are
Set aside

Wash, peel & chop apples
Add a pinch of cinnamon
Steam until tender
Combine all ingredients to a large bowl and hand mash using a potato masher
(no blender needed)

*I froze the remaining portions in my Kiddo Feedo silicone freezer tray as shown above. Roasting time for the squash will vary depending on size.
