I tried this at least a year ago with our toddler and he loved it. So I’ve tried it again and offered it to both of our boys. They both get veggies like kale in smoothie form, but if they’ll eat it as chips, it gives me another way to serve it to them.
Salt or spices to taste (I used a garlic & herb spice)
Extra virgin olive oil
Wash the kale and lay it flat on paper towel (or towels) to dry
Preheat oven at 300 degrees
Rip the leaves from the stems
Using your hands, rip the kale apart into separate pieces. Not too small. See photo below.
Drizzle extra virgin olive oil over the kale.
Sprinkle desired salt and/or spices. (I just used the spice)
Grease pan (or use baking sheet)
Place the kale pieces FLAT on the tray (No overlapping)
Bake for approximately 20 minutes, or until crispy.
Mine baked for 22 minutes. Oven models aren’t all the same, so be sure to check at least after the 15 minute mark. They should be crispy.
