I made this oatmeal breakfast smoothie for the boys. I’ve purchased flavoured oatmeal for them before and they loved it…but then I read the ingredients. Our safest bet was to go with 100% oats and to add flavour to it. Our toddler loved it cooked on the stove with sliced apples and banana, but our younger son wouldn’t have it. So I decided to try something a little different.
Our household LOVES smoothies, so here’s a simple and tasty oatmeal smoothie recipe. These oats aren’t rolled, which I heard are partially cooked and therefore easier to digest. So I cooked the oats quickly before adding them to the blender.
1 cup oats
1.5 cups organic soy
a little water (optional)
Cook the oats on the stove (use instructions on package.)
Let oats cool (optional)
Add oats, banana, strawberries, and soy to blender. I added water to change the consistency.
